What is Canyoning?

Canyoning is the perfect summer adventure and often involves a variety of activities including swimming, wading, jumping into pools (‘water-jumps’), abseiling through waterfalls, bushwalking and scrambling over rocks and boulders. The grandeur and pristine beauty of the canyons almost defies description. Spend the day with like minded minded travellers who love adventure just like yourself.

Abseil/rappel cliffs varying from 5m-30m/15-100 feet in height

During the morning you will be abseiling/repelling.Starting with a 5 metre high cliff and building up to 30 metre high cliffs. Leap and bound down the walls. You will get to try lots of abseils as you gain confidence and hone your skills. Your guide will run through all you need to know and you will be repaired to take on the the canyon in the afternoon.

Empress Falls

The final abseil out of the canyon is one of the best waterfall(Empress Falls) abseils in the mountains. Clip into the rope, step back and follow the 30 metre waterfall down to the deep rock pool below. This is not just a brilliant waterfall abseil but also a fantastic photo opportunity. We then take a steep 25 minute walk out of the Blue Mountains National Park back to the Conservation Hut at Wentworth Falls for some well deserved refreshments.

What our clients say about our Blue Mountains Tours…..

Reviewd April 2019 “Brilliant tour company for private tours from Sydney”

We booked a private tour to the Blue Mountains from Sydney. We wanted a private tour because we wished to tailor the tour to our needs. Our family consists of two adults and two teenage boys, both of who are really into photography, bush walking and nature. We booked the tour through James at Cloud 9 Tours, his communication was brilliant and he helped plan our trip to the Blue Mountains ahead of time which meant we were all organised and our guide had a good idea of what we wanted to see and do. Our guides name was Greg he was fantastic so knowledgable, fun and made our day a special one to remember. We all had the best day and we feel that he really showed us all the best parts of the Blue Mountains, we especially enjoyed the walk the falls it was so beautiful. We were really happy with our options for lunch and loved the Old bank pub for lunch in Katoomba. Scenic world was great and timed well, so that we missed the majority of the crowds. We really had a brilliant day and we all got to take lots of beautiful photos. We would definitely use Cloud 9 Tours again.

Reviewed 17th November 2016 "Fantastic Blue Mountains Tour!"

I was in Sydney for work for a limited time, and my 16-year-old son accompanied me so we could sight-see. Since my son loves to hike, I really wanted to add a visit to the Blue Mountains. James did a FANTASTIC job tailoring our day to our interests. He took us on some great hikes, to some out-of-the-way lookouts, to a spot where we could see a huge number of kangaroos in their natural habitat lounging in the sun, and a fantastic spot for lunch, and we were away from the typical tourist areas just as we asked. James was also very flexible with our pick-up in Coogee but drop-off in the CBD at the height of rush hour. Perhaps most importantly, James was really engaging, especially for my son who is quite shy. I HIGHLY recommend Cloud 9 tours; we had a great experience for a really reasonable price for a personal, two-person tour.
